The unit, active since 2012 and dedicated to the production of doré, is preparing for a final operational phase that requires technical and infrastructure improvements to ensure its continuity until 2025.
Adjustments to optimize workflow and operational management
Among the proposed changes, the stands out Checocollo pit expansion, maintaining the approved ceiling to make more efficient use of gold reserves. This adjustment is accompanied by a Water management system update, fundamental for preserving operational stability and ensuring safe conditions.
The report also includes the reduction in backfill capacity, which would go from 8 to 6 million tons. This adjustment responds to new evaluations of available material and seeks to ensure a more efficient disposal of material returned to the pit. In addition to this, there is PAD Redesign Phase 5B, oriented to reinforce its stability and decrease structural risks during the leaching process.
Improvements in security and critical infrastructure

Finally, the company proposes to incorporate a Pumping system for the gunpowder magazine fire suppression circuit, reinforcing emergency response capabilities in a sector with high operational sensitivity.
Investment and Project Continuity Framework
These modifications align with the approval granted by Senace in 2024 for the third amendment to Pucamarca's environmental study, which enabled an investment exceeding US$ 105.6 million. The resolution allowed for the extension of the exploitation schedule until 2025, maintaining the authorized production capacity of 25,200 tons per day. With this set of actions, Minsur seeks to consolidate a safe, stable operation that is in line with the unit's final stage of life.
