More than 10,000 taxi drivers from Lima, Callao, and Ica are registered for the S/120 discount on NGV.
The Ministry of Energy and Mines (MINEM) reported that the registration process to access the S/ 120 discount on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) for vehicles continues to progress correctly in Lima, Callao, and Ica, benefiting formal taxi drivers affected during the health emergency in March.
The Director of Natural Gas Management of the General Directorate of Hydrocarbons (DGH) of the MINEM, Luis Carbajal Calderón, stated that this measure covers approximately 70,000 formal taxi drivers, of whom around 65,000 are in Lima and Callao, and nearly 5,000 in Ica.
He specified that, according to the latest information update as of April 6, 2026, more than 10,000 taxi drivers have already completed the registration process, and there are 148 service stations enabled for the application of the benefit.
In Metropolitan Lima and Callao, the districts that register the highest number of registrations are San Juan de Lurigancho, San Martín de Porres, Chorrillos, La Victoria, Los Olivos, Comas, Callao, Cercado de Lima, among others.
Additionally, it was reported that the S/ 120 discount is not given in cash, but is applied directly to the GNV consumption. Furthermore, it is cumulative and can be used in multiple refills until the total amount is reached.
To access, taxi drivers must register on the platform. http://descuentognv.infogas.com.pe registering their vehicle license plate number, Single Circulation Card (TUC). The benefit is for drivers who are part of the official registries of the ATU or the provincial municipalities of Ica.
As part of the emergency support, it was explained that the MINEM also ordered the suspension of FISE (Energy Social Inclusion Fund) credit payments for affected beneficiaries for 60 days.
