The Peruvian electrical system has important strengths to support the growth of mining and industry, but faces urgent challenges in transmission, subtransmission, permits, reliability, and energy planning. This was stated by specialists from the electrical sector and the business world within the framework of the SYMPOSIUM – XVI International Mining Meeting, organized by the National Society of Mining, Petroleum and Energy (SNMPE).
MINEM boosts the strengthening of the electrical system with more than 424 Km. of new transmission lines

The Ministry of Energy and Mines (MINEM) reported that, in 2025, the electricity sector made significant progress in the area of transmission, with the commissioning of 424.5 kilometers of new transmission lines and substation expansions, thanks to a total investment of US$1.41591 billion, helping to strengthen the National Interconnected Electric System (SEIN).
