Pluspetrol, operator of Camisea, has received the third star of the program Carbon Footprint Peru, recognition awarded by the Ministry of the Environment (MINAM) to organizations that demonstrate verifiable progress in reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

The distinction recognizes the company's actions, which have been ongoing for years as part of its emissions reduction plan. Among these, the implementation of technological and operational improvements in the Pagoreni B and Cashiriari 3 production clusters, located in the jungle, stands out. Cusco, which allowed for the shutdown and removal of two controlled gas flares.

These facilities are part of a system that is managed today thanks to the application of the model Lean Cluster, an operational architecture that integrates advanced technology, energy efficiency, and remote operation to optimize production processes and reduce their environmental impact.

As a result of this initiative, Pluspetrol It has reduced emissions associated with each cluster involved by nearly 90%. It also helps reduce energy and water consumption, solid waste generation, and emissions from air and river transport.

The project Lean Cluster joins other initiatives that are part of the environmental strategy of Camisea like the Malvinas Plant Energy Efficiency Program, which reduces more than 31,000 tons of CO₂ per year; the Green Pipelines Program, focused on revegetating areas where gas pipelines run; as well as the environmental and biodiversity monitoring programs developed with community participation and specialized researchers.

The Carbon Footprint Peru is an official tool of the Peruvian state that recognizes public and private organizations that manage and reduce their greenhouse gas emissions for the benefit of the environment. The third star distinguishes organizations that not only measure and report their emissions but also certify concrete reduction actions.

In the case of Pluspetrol, the results achieved are part of a continuous improvement process supported by the verification of your greenhouse gas inventory in accordance with the demanding international standard ISO 14064.
