Promigas Acquires Zelestra Latam and Strengthens its Leadership as a Multi-Energy Platform in Latin America
Promigas announced the completion of the acquisition of 100% of Zelestra Latam, one of the leading renewable energy generation platforms in Latin America, with operations in Peru, Colombia, and Chile. This transaction marks a milestone in the company’s evolution and strengthens its position as a multi-energy platform in the region, contributing to the energy transition in Latin America by integrating renewable energy into its portfolio.
Zelestra Latam has a project portfolio spanning multiple development stages. It currently totals 1,273 MW across operational and under-construction projects, as well as a pipeline of nearly 2.25 GW in development. Its portfolio, diversified between solar energy and storage, positions it as a key player in the regional energy transition.
In Peru, Promigas has been a relevant player in the development of energy infrastructure and in the process of natural gas massification. The incorporation of Zelestra Latam adds to this journey, integrating renewable energy capabilities that complement its experience and strengthen its value proposition in the country.
“This acquisition represents a decisive step in Promigas's evolution towards becoming a multi-energy holding company in the region. In Peru, it allows us to complement our trajectory with new capabilities in renewable energies, but above all, to add talent: a team with experience, knowledge, and a solid execution capacity. We are convinced that people are what make the energy transition possible, and together with local talent, we will continue to contribute to the sustainable energy development of the country,” stated Juan Manuel Rojas, president of Promigas.
The transaction ensures the continuity of projects, local teams, and existing commitments, maintaining high operational standards and a close relationship with customers and communities.
With this acquisition, Promigas reaffirms its long-term commitment to Peru, strengthening its presence in the country and its contribution to the development of an increasingly sustainable, reliable, and diversified energy system.
