The Southern Macroregion, comprising the departments of Moquegua, Arequipa, Apurímac, Cusco, and Puno, accounts for mining investments totaling more than US$1.212 billion, representing 43.3% of the national total for this category as of the end of July 2025, reported the Ministry of Energy and Mines (MINEM).
