Amidst growing global competition for access to critical minerals, Peru faces a significant opportunity due to its geological potential and its status as a producing country. Nevertheless, during the SYMPOSIUM – XVI International Mining Meeting, specialists agreed that this potential has not yet translated into a national strategy with clear priorities, better information, and greater institutional strength.

The Peruvian electrical system has important strengths to support the growth of mining and industry, but faces urgent challenges in transmission, subtransmission, permits, reliability, and energy planning. This was stated by specialists from the electrical sector and the business world within the framework of the SYMPOSIUM – XVI International Mining Meeting, organized by the National Society of Mining, Petroleum and Energy (SNMPE).
