American Lithium reaffirmed the strategic importance of its projects Falchani y Macusani, located in the Puno region, considering that both initiatives can play a relevant role in strengthening Peru's position within the global supply chain of minerals linked to the energy transition.

The Canadian company pointed out that the progress of these projects coincides with an international scenario in which minerals such as lithium and uranium are becoming increasingly important due to their role in technologies associated with energy storage, electromobility, and energy security.

According to the company, Falchani y Macusani they continue to consolidate their technical profile thanks to the exploration and evaluation work carried out in recent years. Both projects have preliminary economic assessments and a mineral resource base that has been strengthened through additional exploration campaigns.

Falchani stands out within the portfolio of American Lithium for hosting one of the largest hard rock lithium and cesium deposits identified globally, while Macusani is considered the most important undeveloped uranium deposit in Latin America.

For the company, these features place the Peru in a favorable position to participate in strategic markets linked to the supply of raw materials necessary for the global energy transition.

American Lithium, ”, through our Falchani and Macusani projects, is in a privileged position to contribute to Peru's energy leadership aspirations," said Laurence Stefan, company president and chief operating officer.

The statements come after the Peruvian government officially declared the national importance of lithium and uranium through a supreme decree that also promotes an international forum dedicated to analyzing the potential of these minerals for technological and energy development.

The meeting, called “Uranium and Lithium: Pillars of Energy Leadership for Mining, Technological Development, and Smart Cities in Peru and the World,” will be organized by the Ministry of Energy and Mines (MINEM) and the Ministry of Housing, Construction, and Sanitation (MVCS), and will take place on July 7 and 8, 2026.

From American Lithium's perspective, the decision made by the Executive Branch represents a positive signal for the development of projects related to strategic minerals and for the country's positioning within new energy value chains.

“The Peruvian government's decision to declare this Forum of national importance is a milestone that confirms what we have believed for many years,” Stefan stated.

The company believes that the recognition given to lithium and uranium reflects the growing interest in promoting initiatives capable of generating new investment, innovation, and industrial development opportunities in the country.

In a context of growing global demand for critical minerals, American Lithium maintains that Falchani and Macusani could significantly contribute to strengthening Peru's presence in strategic sectors linked to the energy transition and the development of next-generation technologies.
