CONAMIN 2026 will bring together 155 research, technology, and mining innovation works in Trujillo
155 research, technology, innovation, and mining sustainability papers will be presented during the XVI National Mining Congress – CONAMIN 2026, which will take place from June 15 to 19 at TECSUP – Trujillo.
This was reported by Ing. José Terrones, president of the ITIS Committee (Mining Research, Technology, Innovation, and Sustainability), who highlighted that the works were evaluated and selected for their high technical level and their contribution to the national and international mining industry. They are grouped into eight specialties: Geology and Exploration; Mining Operations; Occupational Safety and Health; Mining Management and Economics; Metallurgical Processes; Environmental Management and Circular Economy; Social Responsibility and Sustainability Management; and Innovation and Technology.
“These works aim to analyze and investigate technological innovations focused on increasing productivity, profitability, and cost reduction in mining activities. Likewise, they seek to promote the exchange of knowledge about advances in engineering, research, innovation, and technology in the sector, contributing to the professional development of specialists linked to the sector,” stated Terrones.
The works were evaluated and selected by a committee composed of distinguished engineers and specialists with renowned professional backgrounds, considering criteria such as originality, technical level, contribution, and formality. Among the committee members are Jaime Tumialán (honorary president of the ITIS Committee), Edgar Alayo, Dionisio Povis, Johana Herrera, Jorge Concepción, Fernando Valdez, José Macassi, José Gutiérrez, Juan Hoyos, Carmen Matos, and Fernando Sagastegui.
Among the mining companies whose professionals will present their research are Compañía de Minas Buenaventura, Compañía Minera Poderosa, Compañía Minera Antamina, Volcan Compañía Minera, Southern Perú Copper Corporation, Minera Chinalco Perú, Minera Colquisiri, Compañía Minera San Ignacio de Morococha – SIMSA, Minera Boroo Misquichilca, Compañía Minera Caravelí, Compañía Minera Crespo, Compañía Minera Bateas, Catalina Huanca Sociedad Minera, Sociedad Mineral El Brocal, Compañía Minera Cultinor, Unidad Minera Morritos, Compañía Minera Argos, among others.

The committee reported that the National Mining Congress Award will be given for the best research, technology, innovation, and mining sustainability work of greatest contribution and originality. Likewise, recognitions will be awarded for each specialty, whose impacts represent a significant contribution to the activities and operations of the sector. In addition to monetary prizes for first, second, and third place.
