Bradken's new mill lining foundry in Chilca will generate over 1,200 jobs

Bradken, specializing in solutions for the mining industry, reported that its new mill liner foundry in Chilca It will create approximately 200 direct jobs and more than 1,200 indirect jobs, driving local economic development and the training of specialized technical talent. As part of its inclusive employment approach, the company projects that more than 30% of its workforce will be women, while also promoting local training and education programs such as Women in Manufacturing Peru.

The plant, located in the industrial corridor of Chilca, will begin operations in 2026, strengthening the company's regional production capacity and allowing for quicker and more efficient service to the growing demand for solutions for the mining industry in Peru, Chile, and other markets in the region.

The facility will have the capacity to produce up to 20,000 tons annually of steel liners for mills and has been designed to high technological, operational, and environmental standards. Additionally, it will incorporate some of the largest equipment in South America and technology focused on energy efficiency and reducing environmental impact.

As part of its sustainability strategy, Bradken He emphasized that one of the key factors in choosing Chilca as the location for this new operation was the progress made in decarbonizing Peru’s electricity grid. In line with this, the company projects that it will achieve up to 99% renewable electricity consumption as the available energy supply expands. Currently, the area combines renewable sources with natural gas as a transitional fuel and battery energy storage systems (BESS).

Likewise, the operation will function under a circular economy approach, promoting recycling, material optimization, and the reduction of industrial waste.

With over 100 years of global foundry and manufacturing experience, the company highlighted that this new facility incorporates best practices implemented in its international operations and will strengthen its capacity to offer locally manufactured lining solutions for South American mining.
