Volcan Compañía Minera will optimize operations in Andaychagua after the sixth ITS is approved by Senace

The Senate approved the Sixth Sustaining Technical Report (ITS) presented by Volcan Compañía Minera S.A.A. for the Andaychagua Mining Unit, located in the Huayhuay district, Yauli province, in the department of Junín.

Environmental compliance was granted through Directorate Resolution No. 00075-2026-SENACE-PE/DEAR, allowing the company to implement a series of modifications aimed at strengthening the operational performance of the mining unit.

Among the main actions contemplated in the ITS are improvements to underground ventilation systems, optimization of the backfill plant, adjustments to camps, and updating of auxiliary components linked to mining operations.

According to the evaluation carried out by the environmental entity, the proposal presented by the company complies with the technical and legal requirements established in the applicable environmental regulatory framework for mining activities in the country.

The Sustentatory Technical Report is an environmental management instrument used to approve modifications, expansions, or technological improvements that do not generate significant environmental impacts, allowing operational continuity while complying with regulations.

Furthermore, the approval of the sixth ITS will allow Volcan Compañía Minera to make specific adjustments to key components of Andaychagua, while maintaining compliance with current environmental regulations and reinforcing the continuity of its activities in the Junín region.

The Andaychagua mining unit is part of Volcan Compañía Minera's polymetallic operations in the central highlands of Peru and represents one of the company's relevant assets in the Junín region.
