Navy destroys illegal mining assets in Huánuco
During an interdiction operation against illegal mining carried out by the Defense sector, through the Peruvian Navy, on the Pachitea River, Huánuco region, three artisanal dredge-type artifacts and other materials used in this illicit activity were seized and destroyed.
The intervention was carried out near the Pescador stream, where the command of the 4th Captaincy District and the Puerto Inca River Control Unit developed a joint and coordinated action, achieving concrete results in the fight against illegal economies.
During the operation, naval forces intercepted three artisanal riverine dredging artifacts and various materials used by criminal organizations dedicated to illicit mineral extraction. In coordination with the Specialized Environmental Prosecutor's Office (FEMA), all found assets were destroyed, in compliance with Legislative Decree No. 1100.
Interdiction actions will continue to intensify as a fundamental axis of upcoming operations, guaranteeing strict compliance with the law.
The Defense sector reaffirms its commitment to dismantling illegal economies and consolidating territorial control nationwide.
