Minera Poderosa forecasts producing 981,000 ounces of gold by 2028
The Operations Manager at Compañía Minera Poderosa, Pío Carrasco, stated that the company's goal is to produce 981,601 ounces of gold by 2028, in order to ensure the continuity of its operations.
During his participation as a speaker at the Mining Meeting called “Powerful: Innovation applied to operations,” he stated that the mining company is preparing explorations in the mining units located in Marañón, Santa María, Palca, Montañitas, and Rafaella, in the Pataz district, La Libertad region.
“Advances in diamond drilling explorations and geological mining operations will allow for the recovery of mineral resources exploited over five years, reaching 981,601 ounces of gold by the end of 2028,” commented the executive at the event of the Institute of Mining Engineers of Peru (IIMP).
He also stated that, for this year, the company plans to invest US$1.955 billion in sustainability and infrastructure, with the aim of consolidating its operations. Compared to last year’s investment (US$191 million), the increase for 2025 is US$4.5 million.
“Our production rate is holding steady at around 1,960 metric tons per day, and we’ve increased our investments compared to 2024. If we look back a bit further to 2023, the figure was US$1.45 billion. For 2025, we are aiming to reach US$1.455 billion,” he concluded.
